Why I'm Running
for Re-Election
Here For Our Kids, Working Hard For Our Community.
I’m Brad Crihfield. I’m a Lakewood resident, a husband, a special education parent, and a current Bellflower Unified School Board Member. Over the last three years, I’ve been trusted to serve in every leadership role on the Board, including President, Vice President, and now Clerk.
I ran for school board because I wanted to help move our district forward. Together, we’ve made real progress. We’ve improved campus safety, pushed forward school projects that had been stalled for years, supported our teachers, and worked to make sure families feel heard and respected. That work matters to me, and it’s why I’m running for re election.
As the parent of a child with special needs, this work is personal. I’ve experienced the system as a parent. I’ve seen where it supports students well and where it falls short. That perspective drives me to fight for the resources, fairness, and accountability our students deserve.
I also bring experience as a public communicator and community college professional. I believe strongly in listening first, working collaboratively, and solving problems without ego. Progress happens when people feel respected and included in the process.
Most of all, I’m a neighbor who cares deeply about this community. Every child in our district deserves a real opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background, learning needs, or zip code.
This campaign is about keeping our schools strong, staying focused on students, and continuing steady, responsible leadership. If you’ve already placed your trust in me, thank you. If you’re just getting to know me, I hope I can earn your support.
Let’s keep moving forward together.
“Our district has made progress in many ways, but we are not done and I would be honored to continue the work."
Key Priorities
Student Safety
Every student deserves a school environment where they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. I’ve prioritized safety upgrades, smart planning, and open lines of communication with families.
Strong Teachers
Great schools start with great educators. I believe in listening to teachers, respecting their expertise, and giving them the tools and support they need to help every student succeed.
Community Engagement
Schools work best when families are involved. I’ve fought for transparency, communication, and access because when we bring the community in, we make better decisions for kids.
Bright Futures
From early learners to graduating seniors, every student deserves a path forward. I support programs that build real-world skills, confidence, and opportunities — in and beyond the classroom.
